The Emerging Leaders Development Program is a 7-month cohort-based program designed to provide participants who live or work in Rhode Island with additional knowledge, skills, and tools they need to advance their careers.
Newport Community School boasts a successful history of collaborating with the Department of Labor and Training (DLT) to offer workforce training and development programs for underserved populations on Aquidneck Island.
Man Up empowers formerly incarcerated Rhode Islanders to achieve career success. Their mission is to provide a comprehensive support system specifically designed for men of color facing post-incarceration challenges.
The Essential Hospitality Skills program will run for 4 weeks, Monday through Friday from 9AM to 3PM; in person, at the Education Exchange in Peace Dale (South Kingstown, RI).
Garden Time Inc. offers two 8-week Green Reentry Job Training programs each year, in spring and fall. These programs equip formerly incarcerated men and women with technical skills for tree care and other green industries.
To address the shortage of trained plant-based industry professionals in Rhode Island, the RI Landscape and Nursery Association (RINLA) has developed a comprehensive pre-apprenticeship program.
The Job Development program will focus on training unemployed/underemployed participants (especially with language barriers) including the engagement of employers to match participants with jobs.
The LEAP (Leadership Equity Accelerated Pathway) Mentor Program is designed for Asian, Black, Hispanic or Latino, Indigenous, and multi-racial young adults (18-30).
The Med Tech Leadership Program is an immersive series of classes and workshops designed to teach innovators and entrepreneurs the best commercialization practices for regulated medical technologies.
