Proposed Regulations

The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training is seeking initial public comment on proposed amendments to 260-RICR-30-15-3 to align the Rhode Island prevailing wage regulations with recent changes to R.I. Gen. Laws Chapter 37-13.

The proposed amendments include:

1. Prohibiting cash payments in place of healthcare benefits;
2. Prohibiting cash payments in place of retirement or pension benefits;
3. Expanding coverage to include school transportation; and
4. Requiring the Department to publish prevailing retirement or pension benefit rates by classification each year.

This regulation is now open for public comment until June 26, 2026. Comments can be directed to:
