Description

The Digital Literacy Training program is open to Rhode Island residents, 18 and older, who are looking to get back into the workforce. This training is 4 weeks long and runs Monday-Friday 9am-3pm via zoom. This training covers basic computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Apps, resume writing, and interview preparation. At the end of the classroom portion, you will receive certifications in Microsoft Office programs, as well as, ServSafe Certifications.

After the three weeks of training are completed, the Education Exchange will work on placing students in a one-week (30 hours total) internship at a local business. The internships are based on the individual's strengths, skills and industry they are hoping to work in. If the Education exchange is unable to place an individual in an internship, the parntership will help that individual apply for jobs. The main goal of this training is to get Rhode Islanders back to work.

The program is incentive-based, and participants receive a stipend upon completion of the training.

This program opportunity is organized by the Aquaculture Real Jobs Training Partnership led by The Education Exchange,  Inc..
