2026 Workforce Development Investments

The Department has awarded 68 new partnerships for FY26, 39 for Real Jobs RI (RJRI) and 29 for Real Skills for Youth (RSFY)—investing $18.6 million ($14.3 million for RJRI and $4.3 million for RSFY) to serve more than 7,000 youth and adults.

Real Jobs RI connects Rhode Islanders to jobs, supports career growth, and helps employers meet workforce needs. Real Skills for Youth prepares young people for college and careers by providing hands-on work experiences, skill-building, and career exploration.

Rhode Island-based Jobs Rose by 200 from October; November Unemployment Rate Drops to 4.3 Percent

CRANSTON, R.I. – Jobs at Rhode Island businesses rose by 200 in November as the state’s November unemployment rate dropped two-tenths of a percentage point from September 2025 to 4.3 percent. Over the year, jobs were down 500 from November 2024, and the unemployment rate was down two-tenths of a percentage point.
