The Medical Assistant program prepares students to be multi-functional practitioners, thoroughly prepared to perform front office and clinical patient care duties, as well as, basic urgent care procedures.

Certifications available include: First Aid, CPR, EKG, Phlebotomy. RMA available if requirements are met. An instructional program that trains individuals to support physicians by providing assistance during patient examinations, treatment administration, monitoring by keeping patient, related health record information and by performing a wide range of practice related duties.

This Program is a certificate of continuing study. This program is a 20-week medical assistant certificate training program that combines classroom instruction with on-the-job training.

Hands On Diploma Program. 30-week consisting of 900 hours. Certification, is the CPC-A from the AAPC with the successful completion of the certification exam. Curriculum includes: Microsoft Office, electronic Billing, Medical records, Coding, and Insurance. Students complete a 120-hour internship, often resulting in a job offer.

The Medical Office Administration Program is a certificate program specially designed to prepare students for a career as a medical office administrative assistant. In this program, students will develop skills to perform the tasks needed in today’s medical office, to communicate effectively, to use medical applications software.

Newport Community School, in partnership with the ALALC program and Roger Williams Career Development/Generations, offers a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Med Tech program. This program is designed for licensed Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) employed by RI DOH State Licensed Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Day Cares, or Group Homes.

Concentrates on technical knowledge, skills to repair, service, maintain motorcycles, small engines, other similar vehicles. Includes instruction in lubrication, cooling systems, electrical, ignition systems, carburation, fuel systems, adjustments of moving parts.

Nail Course Overview Course Hours: 300 clock hours The course is divided into pre-clinical classroom instruction and clinical service learning experiences. Pre-clinical Classroom Instruction: The first 60 hours are devoted to classroom workshops, demonstration, and practical experience. You will learn nail principles, technical information, and professional practices.
