Hoisting Engineers

Hoisting Engineers are the skilled operators behind a variety of powerful construction equipment. They control machinery exceeding 5 horsepower (steam, internal combustion, electric, or compressed air) and capable of lifting more than 500 pounds. This equipment is used for diverse tasks like moving construction materials, excavating earth and heavy materials, and applying asphalt or concrete for roads and structures. Operating these machines involves levers, foot pedals, switches, and dials, with some requiring computer controls. Hoisting Engineers may also set up, inspect, and adjust equipment, performing minor maintenance and repairs to keep these essential machines running smoothly.
