Description

The program consists of 4 phases; 1) General Medical Studies (6 weeks): students receive training in Infection Control, Basic Human Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, CPR, 1st Aid, Legal issues, Communication, & Documentation. 2) Core Curriculum EKG (about 6 weeks), students learn about the EKG Technician profession, how to obtain and interpret 12-Lead EKGs, how to perform stress testing, and the use of holter monitoring. All work is done on live human 'patients'. 3) The Simulated Clinical /Externship session prepares students for work in ahospital/clinic environment. Students receive patients, review tests ordered, obtain EKGs and perform required testing. 4) Upon completion of the didactic, tactical and clinical portions, students sit for the National Healthcare Association Certification Examination which is the course ending final examination. Free help sessions throughout the course. Remedial services and/or additional time offered if needed (tutor rates may apply). This program is not eligible for Pell Grant. This program consist of 12 weeks, classes are 2-3 nights a week for 3 hour sessions.
