Description
The program consists of 6 phases: 1) General Medical Studies (4 weeks): Includes Infection Control, Basic Human Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, CPR. 2) EKG Core Curriculum portions (4 weeks): Students learn about the EKG Technician profession and how to obtain and interpret 12-Lead EKG's, perform stress testing, and use the halter monitor. All work is done on live human 'patients'. 3) Phlebotomy Core Curriculum (5 weeks): Students learn about the Phlebotomy profession, how to obtain blood & non-blood samples, and laboratory procedures as well as performing blood draws on manikins and human 'patients', Training includes: Professional ethics, communication skills, interview techniques, and job etiquette. 4) Anatomy and Physicology - 4 weeks. 5) Medical Assistant Core (CMA1) Administrative (Front Office) - 5 weeks. 6) Medical Assistant Core (CMA2) (Back office) advanced training in math, patient care skills, history & physical, assisting the physician, insurance/billing, medical office management, etc. 5) Clinical Internship 40hrs/week x 2-4 weeks in a hospital or laboratory. 6) Upon completion of the didactic, practical & clinical phases, students sit for the National Healthcareer Association Certification Examination which is the course ending final.
**You will need to meet with a Job Coach either online or at a DLT Career Center to determine your eligibility for an Individual Training Account of up to $15,000 to cover the cost of the ETPL program you wish to enroll in.**
