Real Jobs Rhode Island

The free market – only faster The law of supply and demand is powerful. But it can be slow. Particularly when it comes to big, structural issues like workforce development. Especially when government gets involved.

We know that if businesses need employees with a certain skill or knowledge, eventually that demand will generate the supply. But it can take months or often years. And that is too long for both an understaffed business or an unemployed Rhode Islander to wait.

That is why Real Jobs RI was created. We anticipate demand by actively asking business and industry to tell us their needs and then accelerate supply by doing whatever it takes – be it building programs or clearing barriers – to teach those skills to potential employees.

Our goal is not to disrupt the free market, but to accelerate it so that our citizens, our businesses and our state have an unmistakable competitive advantage.
