Cranston, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training (DLT), led by Director Matthew Weldon, is proud to announce the second Rhode Island Corporate Career Fair, an event designed to support Rhode Islanders whose employment has been impacted by the Hasbro relocation, as well as all individuals in search of new career possibilities. Organized in partnership with Workforce Solutions of Providence/Cranston, the fair offers a welcoming environment for anyone interested in advancing or changing their career, regardless of their current employment status or background.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 14th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the CCRI – Knight Campus, 400 East Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886.
More than 25 leading employers will be on-site, actively recruiting for a wide range of corporate-level positions across business operations, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, project management, logistics, and more. Job seekers can expect opportunities across a variety of industries and skill levels.
Director Weldon emphasized the Department’s commitment to connecting jobseekers with the resources, support, and employers they need to succeed.
“As our state navigates periods of economic change, it’s more important than ever for organizations to come together in support of our workforce. We are grateful to CCRI and Workforce Solutions for their partnership in making this event possible,” said Director Weldon. “Our goal at the Department of Labor and Training is to ensure that every Rhode Islander has access to quality career opportunities and the support they need to thrive. DLT remains committed to providing free, personalized career services to all job seekers, empowering them to move forward with confidence.”
The City of Pawtucket has worked closely with DLT in its response to the Hasbro departure.
“While the loss of Hasbro’s presence in Pawtucket represents a significant change for our city, our priority must be supporting the employees and families whose lives and careers are being impacted,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien, City of Pawtucket. “These are talented, experienced professionals who have contributed so much to our community, and they deserve every opportunity to continue building successful careers here in Rhode Island. I appreciate the RI Department of Labor and Training and its partners for bringing employers and job seekers together and providing meaningful resources to those navigating this transition. We want these workers to know that they are not alone, and that Pawtucket and our state remain committed to helping them move forward.”
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet directly with employers, build professional connections, and access a comprehensive range of support services, including guidance from DLT Career Center staff, Skills for Rhode Island’s Future, and the United Way of Rhode Island.
