Description

This program provides an introduction to the field of Phlebotomy, which prepares the student to obtain blood specimens in labs, physician’s offices and hospitals. The curriculum includes components of Anatomy & Physiology (with a concentration on the Cardiovascular System), Medical Terminology, CPR Certification, Infection Control & Universal Precautions, Order of Draw, General Lab Operations and Introduction to Electronic Health Records. This comprehensive course prepares the graduate to sit for National Testing as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. This program combines lectures with hands-on skills training that qualifies our graduate for externship training to obtain requirements for National Certification. We offer career counseling, resume building and test preparation to our students to assist them in obtaining a position in the field. National Certification testing is offered through the National Healthcareer Association. Upon successful completion of the testing process, you will be Nationally Certified and able to practice in any state in the United States.
