Public Code of Conduct

All users of the Virtual Appointment Center are required to adhere to the following code of conduct. Failure to do so may result in you losing access to our services, being removed from training, or facing legal or financial penalties.  

All users must:

  • Exercise respect and consideration in speech and actions;
  • Refrain from using demeaning, discriminatory, aggressive, or harassing behavior or speech, including offensive verbal comments related to:
    • Race;
    • Ethnicity;
    • Country of origin;
    • Language;
    • Gender;
    • Gender identity and expression;
    • Age;
    • Sexual orientation;
    • Disability; and
    • Physical appearance;
  • Refrain from engaging in disruptive behavior, including deliberate intimidation and threats;
  • Refrain from making any sexually explicit comments or engaging in any sexually explicit behaviors; Refrain from making unwanted sexual or romantic advances on any other user of the Virtual Appointment Center.
  • Maintain appropriate attire throughout all interactions with other users;
  • Do not take or distribute any images or videos of other users without their expressed permission;
  • Abide by all privacy requirements, including:
    • Not sharing personal information about any other user or individual associated with the Virtual Appointment Center;
    • Not making personal use of information obtained about any other user during use of the Virtual Appointment Center;
    • Not using information obtained about any other user during use of the Virtual Appointment Center to stalk, harass, or otherwise engage in unwanted interaction with another user; 

Terms and Conditions: 

By providing your contact information and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, you agree that the Department of Labor and Training and/or its contractors and partners may contact you and/or send you communications which may include: important information regarding job recruitment opportunities, information on available jobs, skills training opportunities, education opportunities, and other skills-related resources and opportunities.  

By providing your cell phone number, you agree to allow the Department to send you communications that may include important information regarding Unemployment Insurance programs, job recruitment opportunities suitable for you, information on available jobs that match your skills, and available skills training opportunities.  

By providing your email, you agree to allow the Department to send you communications which may include questions related to the Unemployment Insurance claim you filed, important information regarding Unemployment Insurance programs, job recruitment opportunities that may be suitable for you, information on available jobs that may be suitable for you, and available training opportunities.  

You may elect to allow the Department to share your contact information directly with employers and/or recruiters who may be interested in hiring you based on your skills, interests, and experience. If you elect this service, you agree to allow the Department and/or its agents/contractors to share your contact information, past employment and education history, and a recommendation about your fit with a job or training program directly with Rhode Island employers and recruitment, placement, and government agencies solely for the purpose of contacting you about hiring or skills training opportunities that may be a good fit for your skills and background.  

I understand that I can cease use of and participation in the Virtual Appointment Center and that data provided during my use of the system may be retained by the State for use in reporting and project management.
