Description

The Patient Care Technician program at 911Programs has been in existence since 2011 and is one of the most popular programs because graduates are highly sought-after. The program consists of four modules: General Medical Studies (4 weeks), Core Phlebotomy (7 weeks), Core EKG (6 weeks), and Nursing Assistant (12 weeks). Depending on the semester and number of students in each module, some students will start with CNA while others will start with Phlebotomy or EKG. Students must take General Medical Studies (GMS) before taking Phlebotomy or EKG. GMS consists of 4 weeks of introductory information to get students acquainted with the medical field, covering a variety of topics such as Introduction to Health Care, Legal and Ethical Issues, Infection Prevention, Medical Terms, Introduction to Anatomy, CPR, and First Aid. Upon completion of the introductory portion, students enter either core phlebotomy or core EKG - the order in which modules are taken depends on the semester and seating availability in each module. Students who start with the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) portion do not have to take GMS before starting CNA. Both the CNA portion and the phlebotomy module include a guaranteed clinical rotation. Upon completion of the Phlebotomy and EKG modules, students may sit for the National HealthCareer Association (NHA) Cardio-Phlebotomy Exam. Alternatively, students may sit for the NHA Phlebotomy or EKG portions at different times. Upon completion of the CNA portion, students may sit for the State CNA license examination. Our Patient Care Technician Program now includes everything from the standard PCT course Level I PLUS training in IV Access and Infusions. This added skill set is an essential element to be of truly high value in the clinical setting. We include this IV training in all our PCT courses so all our graduates will be Level II and will receive a certificate that states Patient Care Technician Level II. 911Programs is an NHA testing site so graduates can take their national exam with us - right where they took their course! Upon graduation, our staff will assist graduates with job searches and job prep as needed. We work with multiple agencies who are frequently in contact with us looking for the next batch of graduates.

**You will need to meet with a Job Coach either online or at a DLT Career Center to determine your eligibility for an Individual Training Account of up to $15,000 to cover the cost of the ETPL program you wish to enroll in.**
