Mechanicals

Occupations under the Mechanicals group include Pipefitters, Welders, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics, Fire Protection and Sprinkler Installers.

Pipe Fitters lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.

Welders use hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld together metal components and parts or to cut, trim, or scarf metal objects to dimensions, as specified by layouts, work orders, or blueprints.

Refrigeration Mechanics install and repair industrial and commercial refrigerating systems. Heating and Air Conditioning Mechanics install, service, and repair heating and air conditioning systems in residences and commercial establishments.
