All processes are taught in vertical & over-head positions preparing students for AWS certification. Tig (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) starts with thin gauge metal typically used in sheet metal & progresses to heavy structural carbon steel in 3G & 4G positions. Special emphasis dedicated to welding carbon steel pipe with preparation leading to a 6G position. Additional related welding subjects include Weld Symbols, Distortion Control, Welding Procedures, Carbon Arc Gouging, Oxy/Fuel Torch cutting, and introduction to Metallurgy targeting the Heat Affected Zone with an understanding of using jigs & fixtures.
