Description:The ACT program is a 16-week carpentry, maintenance, and construction program that consists of classroom and practical experience derived from the National Center for Consturction Education and Research. The curriculum includes an introduction to the trade, construction math, communications and employability skills, financial literacy, safety, hand and powr tools, and basic blueprint reading. Students gain experience in the construction of stairs, windows, doors, framing, drywalling, and floor systems. Students receive industry certifications including OSHA 10, 8 hour Lead Renovator/Remodeler, and CPR/First Aid. In addition to vocational skills studenst receive education in work-readiness, math and literacy, life skills, and financial literacy through weekly classes and individual coaching sessions. Graduates receive ongoing support with job placement, retention, career advancement, and financial coaching.
