Description:The Business Office Technology Certificate Program covers a variety of office skills, software, and technology that will help prepare students for a career in an administrative role. Students will receive computer skill training and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) instruction. Classes will be face-to-face instruction and embedded in the instruction will be mini-lessons created to meet the individual need of skill level. In addition to classroom time, this course will include practice files, customized video tutorials, step-by-step instructions, and Microsoft’s official E-book. Students will be prepared to sit for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification in Word and Excel. At the end of the program, students will take the Microsoft Word exam, which is included in the cost of the course. This program also offers an introduction to Quick Books, basic computer troubleshooting, scanner, copier, fax and other office technology. This program is a great opportunity to equip you for a career as an administrative professional across many industries and it can help advance an existing career. The program is 540 hours/18 weeks; 360 hours classroom training, workshops and self-paced tutorials for 12 weeks, 180 hours internship for 6 weeks. Students will be at internship four days a week and students will be in the classroom for check-in/further training one day a week(inquire about flexibility day/night programs and off-site cohorts). Classes will be held at Roger Williams University- Providence Campus and the Westerly Education Center. Parking will be validated. This program is Pell Grant Eligible.
